Screening & Hiring of Top Performers
During this workshop, you will learn:
- How to use a behavioral screening
and hiring process to recruit top performers.
- A process for introducing and encouraging
top performers into the organization.
- How to find and retain top performers
and build a solid referral system.
- To create performance standards and
implement standards to measure and evaluate performance.
These goals will be accomplished through
gaining knowledge in each of the following areas:
Developing Performance Standards
In order to achieve superior performance,
each job must offer specific performance standards.
During this workshop, you’ll define measurable
performance standards for the job, not the employees.
By doing so you’ll have a powerful tool for
gauging success.
Benchmarking the Job - TriMetrix
Job Report Plus
Businesses must stop benchmarking people.
Businesses must benchmark the job. Benchmarking the
job will set a higher standard than benchmarking a
“C-grade” team of current performers.
Everyone needs continuous improvement and thus a goal
as we work to achieve maximum performance.
During this workshop, you’ll make
use of the TriMetrix Job Report Plus. This report
defines key accountabilities for any job based on
a 37-factor analysis and lists those requirements
into three talent categories: rewards/culture, behavioral
traits and job attributes.
The TriMetrix Job Report combines the
attributes (people talents), behaviors (DISC) and
the values (PIAV) necessary for top performance. It
also contains customized interview questions to ask
candidates in each of the three sections (attributes,
behaviors and values).
Candidates Take the TriMetrix Personal
Report
The TriMetrix Personal Report reveals why, how and what an applicant can contribute
to the job. Through defining individual values, behaviors
and attributes, each candidate is presented in an
unbiased, clear picture that allows for better decision-making
processes.
During this workshop, you’ll uncover
the immense value of the Personal Talent Report and
define its role in your screening and hiring process.
Recruiting
Often times, recruiting is left up to
chance. There is no active search conducted until
a need has to be filled. During this workshop, you’ll
discover easy ways to recruit in order to keep your
pool filled with “A” list people from
which to choose.
Interviewing
The interviewing process commonly used
today is - at best - lacking. It lends itself more
to chance than conviction of solid hiring decisions.
Through extensive examples and hands-on practice,
you’ll learn how to develop accurate interview
questions, how to ask questions in such a way as to
gather the information you really need and interviewing
dos and don’ts that can increase your “good
hire” ratio.
Retaining New Employees
After your screening and hiring process
has concluded, you’ll need to be armed to retain
those top performers you’ve worked so hard to
recruit. Through real-world examples and hands-on
exercises, you’ll discover:
- How to orientate new recruits for
maximum effectiveness.
- The Six Power Sources and how they
can dramatically increase retention levels.
- Valuable retention strategies for
top performers.
Effective evaluation & measuring tools for top
performers.
- Sample performance reviews that shed
a more accurate light on accomplishments.

Managing Conflict Effectively
Conflict is a natural part of life and
the better we are at managing and resolving it, the
more successful we will be in life and at work. How
an individual manages conflict successfully depends

to conflict, we have to first understand how we manage
it ourselves.
During this seminar, you will learn:
- To identify early stages of conflict
and avoid common conflict escalators.
- Common reasons conflicts occur and
how to avoid “getting stuck” in them.
- Targeted strategies for managing

Successful Negotiating Strategies
Can you teach people to be better negotiators?
Can you show them how to achieve better day-to-day
outcomes; become more proficient in long-term decision-making;
enhance their leadership skills; or more easily reach
consensus with people working around them?
We have developed a pragmatic negotiation
process that allows executives and managers at every
level to deal with the kinds of complex problems they
face every day.
This process, which we call "mutual
gains negotiation." This workshop has been designed
to show you how to communicate effectively the elements
that comprise mutual gains negotiation.
At the core of the process is a way
to maximize outcomes in both external and often sensitive
internal corporate negotiations by:
- Knowing the best alternatives.
- Focusing on interests, not positions.
- Inventing options for mutual gain.
- Separating the people from the problem.
- "Winning" by being fair.
Participants will learn to recognize and overcome
obstacles that can keep them from the negotiating
table. You'll also learn what to do when you're talking
to someone who is reluctant to negotiate; how to handle
a hard bargainer; and how to overcome a lack of mutual
trust and cooperation, plus:
- How to improve the power realities
of the negotiation so you can generate better alternatives.
- Steps you can take to separate the
people from the problem and invent options for mutual
gain.
- How to structure the process to encourage
joint problem solving, brainstorming and joint fact-finding.
- What to do before the negotiation
to get people to live up to their commitments after
the bargaining is done.
- How to deal with threats –
the single most abused tactic in negotiation.
